Sexual Therapy

What is Sexual Therapy?

Sexual therapy is a speech therapy practice based on mutual dialogue, sharing and compromise. The basis of sexual intercourse is that it makes people happy both spiritually and physically. In addition, sexual intercourse should not be one-sided and both parties should desire sexual intercourse. A satisfying sexual life is considered natural and healthy. In order to maintain the general well-being of the relationship, physical and emotional closeness of the couples must be maintained.

Sexual therapy can be used to solve some problems that prevent a healthy sexual life. People involved in therapy communicate to determine which of their medical, psychological or personal problems have become a problem in sexual life. As with other psychotherapy techniques, experiences, concerns and emotions are shared during the sexual therapy session. During the session, the therapist can meet with the couples simultaneously or separately. At the end of each session, a future with a healthy sexual life is gradually approached.

The sexual therapist continues to direct the sessions so that the problem that is the source of sexual dysfunction is accepted by the people and awareness is raised, and steps are taken to control this problem. After the session, the sexual therapist may give the couple various assignments, such as reading books about sexuality or healthy communication exercises. At the same time, some psychological testing may be used during sexual therapy sessions to investigate whether emotional problems may be the source of sexual dysfunction.

There are many different conditions evaluated under the definition of sexual dysfunction: Erectile dysfunction Loss of libido (sexual reluctance) Loss of interest Premature ejaculation (premature ejaculation) Self-confidence problems Problems related to the orgasm phase.
