Dr. Merih Yılmaz was born in Muğla in 1974. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Adana. Dr. Merih Yılmaz started his medical education at Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. After graduating in 1998, he started working in Taşlıçay district of Ağrı province due to compulsory service, and then worked at Sivrihisar State Hospital in Eskişehir province. After his military service, he worked as an ambulance physician at Eskişehir Provincial Ambulance Service. He worked as the European Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Trainer until the end of 2006 and took part in various courses organized by the Turkish Resuscitation Council in different cities of Turkey.

He completed his cardiovascular surgery specialization at Hacettepe University Cardiovascular Surgery Department between 2006 and 2012. After completing his compulsory service at Iğdır and Denizli State Hospitals, he resigned and started working in private heart centers. He currently works at Muğla Private Yücelen Hospital Heart Center.
